ETP material includes speaking skills, 12 meetings for semester 1 and 8 meetings for semester 2 and 4 meetings for writing.

The English Tutorial Program (ETP) aims to provide learning for UMS students to be proficient in speaking English and writing simply in English. ETP is given to accompany semester 1 English (EAP: English for Specific Purpose) and semester 2 English (SETP: Standardized English Test Preparation) subjects. ETP scores have a 30% contribution to filling assignment grades in the final English grades of semesters 1 and 1 (EAP and SETP). The implementation of ETP begins with planning, implementation and evaluation.

  1. Planning

Planning is agreed early related to the material needed by graduates and set the material and compiled in a module. ETP implementation is completed with module 1 for semester 1 and module 2 for semester 2.

Participants are 1st semester students and 2nd semester students of the bachelor program except for the English Language Education study program (there is its own program called SEGA). Tutors are 3rd semester students  and above who are recruited through the selection of speaking tests. At the beginning of the test implementation was carried out at LPBIPU and students registered then the test was carried out, and in the 2nd year and so on until now in the 6th year it is held in class with a speaking test that is integrated with the duties of lecturers in class (EAP and SETP lecturers). The next step, LBIPU recruits tutors through a google form and is selected based on the speaking scores obtained from lecturers in class. In addition to Tutor recruitment, Companion Tutor recruitment was also carried out with written and oral English tests and Islamic religious tests.

LBIPU then plotted Tutors and Tutor’s Companions with the number of existing participants, in one year of the 2019-2020 period. After the plotting is complete, LBIPU briefing is held to the Tutor’s Companion and Tutor’s Companion to the Tutor and continues with the implementation of enrichment and the implementation of tutorials which are carried out once a week.
